Eyes is a textile work based on a digital illustration I created in 2020, now reinterpreted through fabric and hand embroidery. The eye is a powerful symbol found in many cultures, often associated with expression, protection, and perception. This particular piece features 41 eyes—referencing a cultural belief in Turkish tradition, where the number 41 symbolizes strong protection and good fortune. The repetition of the gaze creates both a sense of watchfulness and spiritual guardianship, blending folklore with contemporary visual language.

Technical details:
The piece measures 50 x 50 cm and is entirely handmade. Layers of fabric are stitched together using a collage-like technique, creating depth and texture. Every eye is individually hand-cut, arranged, and embroidered onto the surface. The creation process took approximately one month to complete, reflecting both technical precision and conceptual dedication.
