Biography

The artist was born in 1990 in Turkey, graduated with a high honors bachelor’s degree from the Fine Arts Education Department at Gazi University (TR) in 2013. She studied painting via European Union Exchange program at Accademia di belle arti di Macerata, Italy, in 2011-2012. She earned her master’s degree in Combined Arts at Gazi University in 2019. In her research, she studied the notion of illustration and published a book called “Dictionary of Illustrated Art Terms for Children”. She completed her second master’s degree in graphic design at Hacettepe University (TR) in 2023. She studied climate crisis and semiotics in her thesis titled “Examination of Posters Containing Climate Crisis with Semiotic Approaches and Applications”. She designed seven climate crisis posters scope of her thesis. She lectures in the Department of Graphic Design at Atilim University (TR). She often includes figurative elements in her works. She produces in areas such as illustration, typography, poster design, textile design, and collage.

Her art practice, in which she applies photo collage and sewing techniques using Victorian age aesthetics, avant-garde cinema, black-and-white images, and anonymous portraits, is based on the process of enrichment with frosts such as photo manipulation, assembly, cutting, tearing, and pasting. In this practice, the photographic prints and threads that he sees as canvases offer a layered narrative at the intersection of graphic and traditional techniques. Sewing is not only a visual decoupling tool, but also acts as a bridge between the past and the present, leaving a mark.
